Naturally, Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker, who play the aforementioned witches, are the show’s queens. Although the story and the movie give Midler far too much of the spotlight, which takes our attention away from the other actors in the cast. A new group of young people battle the witches in this cast, which also features Doug Jones, but they lack the charisma (and, excuse me, neither the talent) of the young actors in the first movie, such as Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw, or even Sean Murray. For a while in the movie, you might have wished that the witches, all charisma and power, would finally defeat the group of teenagers they are battling.
