As I have already mentioned before, Netflix ‘s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is yet another new alternative sequel to the original. Here 50 years have passed since the events of the first part; although for having spent so much time, Leatherface and his mother are quite well preserved; maybe from drinking the blood of their victims. And it is that on this occasion, of all that disturbed family, only the two of them are left alive. But it is that Leatherface , played this time by Mark Burnham , is on his own to dismember a bunch of naive young people, all very modern. Although the truth is, here his victims are going to make it quite easy for him.
The story begins as usual. A group of boys and girls are driving along a desert highway in Texas, to a destination that no one would look for, but that they seem to be interested in. And it is that in this group, we meet two self-proclaimed idealists, Melody and Dante. Melody ( Sarah Yarkin ) is just a bland, bloodless girl, and Dante ( Jacob Latimore ) is a guy who thinks he knows what he wants, but is actually more lost than a drunk in a fog bank. Both want to turn a supposedly brownfield lot in Texas into a thriving town that will attract more businesses and young, enterprising people to the area.
