Operation Fortune, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Jason Statham, has a slight sense of being the beginning of a new franchise. It’s unlikely that it will actually come to that. There isn’t much depth to the movie or its main characters. The work, which appears to be a narrow-gauge adaptation of a Bond or Mission: Impossible strip, is undoubtedly good as a crisp, competently handled smiley actioner.
